Three types of glass workshop
Arrange cut or pre-cut coloured glass pieces on a kiln shelf, then fire at ~800°C to fuse them. Results range from flat panels and coasters to slumped bowls and jewellery. No lead involved. Best for beginners.
Paint onto flat glass (or pre-made glass shapes) using specialist glass paints, then fire to set. Produces decorative panels and gifts. Most accessible — can be done at home with no kiln if using cold-cure paints.
Cut coloured glass to shape and join pieces with H-shaped lead came strips, then solder the joints. The technique used in church windows. More complex — usually taught in multi-session courses rather than single tasters.
