Finn spent several years teaching practical skills in workshop environments before moving into craft writing, which means he approaches studios and experiences from the inside out. He's most at home with the crafts that involve heat, tools, and getting your hands dirty — pottery, glass blowing, blacksmithing, foraging. His research method is stubbornly physical: he visits studios, asks awkward questions of workshop hosts, and writes up what he finds in the kind of plain language you'd actually want to hear before booking something for the first time.
