What to expect
A 2-hour Bristol taster follows the same format as all UK glass blowing experiences. After a safety briefing and watching the instructor demonstrate, you gather molten glass from the furnace and — with close guidance — blow and shape your piece. The whole process is supervised; the instructor handles the dangerous elements while guiding your shaping and blowing. Your finished piece goes into the annealing oven and reaches you by post within 1–2 weeks.
Bristol's independent studio character means you're often working directly with the glass artist rather than in a larger commercial venue — class sizes are typically small (2–6 people).
